Bostyn was diagnosed and treated for a craniopharyngioma brain tumor in the summer of 2021 and since then, daily labwork has been a requirement to manage diabetes insipidus, a condition, caused by the tumor or treatment, where the brain can no longer manage the body’s fluid balance. The Children’s Brain Tumor Network (CBTN) is dedicated to driving innovative discovery, pioneering new treatments and accelerating open science to improve health for all children and young adults diagnosed with a brain tumor. The CBTN is the largest pediatric brain tumor biorepository and is made up of over 40 partner foundations. This month, Raymond A. Wood Foundation (RAWF) joined those partner organizations and has pledged $50,000 in support of the growth of CBTN’s craniopharyngioma biobank to accelerate research on tumor treatment and post-treatment management.
