There are a variety of resources for survivors and caregivers from fellow organizations.
Medical Expenses:
- Butterfly Fund Financial Assistance Program– Emergency Assistance program to aid qualifying families whose child has been diagnosed with a pediatric brain tumor and as a result are experiencing financial hardships.
- Miracle Flights– provides financial assistance to low-income children for commercial air travel to obtain special medical care. Qualifying families can receive travel assistance for the child patient and up to two parents or legal guardians.
- Good Days– is an organization that works to improve the health and quality of life of patients with chronic disease, cancer, or other life-altering conditions. The organization may help provide families with financial and travel assistance.
- Healthwell Foundation– is a nonprofit dedicated to reducing financial barriers to care for underinsured Americans with chronic and life-altering medical conditions. By assisting with their cost-sharing obligations, HealthWell offers a financial lifeline to adults and children who desperately need critical medical treatments but can’t afford them.
College Scholarships:
- Everylife Foundation– #RAREis Scholarship Fund will support the pursuit of life enrichment activities for adults living with rare diseases for a variety of educational pursuits, including educational courses and obtaining two-and four-year degrees. All scholarship recipients will be selected by an EveryLife Foundation-appointed, independent board of reviewers.
Social & Emotional Support:
- Our Odyssey– connects young adults impacted by a rare or chronic condition with social and emotional support in the hope of improving their quality of life.
Summer Camps:
- Camp Mak-A-Dream– was created to carry out the mission of the Children’s Oncology Camp Foundation which is to provide Camp Mak-A-Dream as a medically-supervised, cost free experience for children and young adults with cancer.
Brain Tumor Organizations:
- Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF)– provides family support resources such as financial assistance, peer to peer mentoring, virtual support groups and more.
- Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation (CBTF)– offers programs, resources, scholarships, and events for pediatric brain tumor patients and their families.
- Pediatric Neuro-oncology Consortium Foundation (PNOC)– mission is to raise resources and influence to support the PNOC Consortium as they provide access to personalized treatment strategies and ultimately improve overall outcomes for children with brain tumors.
- National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS)– provides support groups, patient and caregiver toolkits, and meditation Mondays.
