Set Up a Fundraiser!

The Raymond A. Wood Foundation is a small nonprofit organization operating on a very small budget, working to find better solutions to big issues that affect survivors of hypothalamic-pituitary brain tumors including craniopharyngiomas, astrocytomas, hamartomas and other benign and malignant tumors of the hypothalamic-pituitary axis. Those tumors cause so many quality of life challenges that survivors and caregivers are up against every day.You can help by setting up a fundraiser and sharing it with your friends and family.

It’s easy to get started and make an immediate impact. Here’s how:

  1. Commit to raising $1,000 or an amount meaningful to you
  2. Visit this link and click the button that says “I want to fundraise for this.”
  3. Start spreading the word about what you’re doing and WHY
  4. Reach out to your network and encourage them to support your campaign. From sending emails and making phone calls to posting on social media, inspire people to give by sharing why our work matters to you.

Set Up a Facebook Fundraiser

You can easily set up a Facebook Fundraiser for your birthday or special occasion. Here’s how:

  • Go to the Raymond A. Wood Foundation Facebook page and tap on the “create” button.
  • Follow the steps. Facebook already has content about our mission which you can use but it also helps to share personal stories about why RAWF matters to you.
  • Start small and build up. Set your goal at $250. As you hit your goal you can increase that number. If you can offer to match some of all of the donations, that helps people feel like even small increments are helpful.
  • Share about the different programs that RAWF that funds will help move forward. Why do these programs matter to you personally? The more you talk about the fundraiser, the more people will see it. You can also share graphics and posts from the RAWF Facebook page to your fundraiser. Also share your fundraiser to your stories.
  • Keep promoting it. Commenting and sharing your fundraiser throughout the day will get it in front of people.
  • Invite friends. Start with a close circle that you know will support you and build on that. Invite more throughout the fundraiser.
  • Thank your donors. Check in throughout the fundraiser and thank your donors. Tag them by typing the @ (their name should pop up) to thank them or thanking them directly to the indication on the fundraising page that they donating. Let them know to “like” RAWF’s Facebook page to get updates on how their funds are helping brain tumor survivors.
