Josh Blumenthal is a career athletic coach and administrator having served roles spanning the United States of America.
Presently, he an assistant men’s lacrosse coach when the 2024 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse National Champion Adelphi University in Garden City, NY.
Prior to his time in South Florida he was the director of athletics/head boys lacrosse coach at Wayland Academy in Beaver Dam, WI.
Originally from Long Island, NY, Josh’s coaching journey began with notable achievements in youth, high school, college, and international lacrosse and led him on his chosen path.
In his role as associate athletics director/boys lacrosse coach at St. Andrew’s School in Austin, TX, Josh contributed significantly to budget management, operations, marketing, social media, college recruiting, and admissions athletics cultivation. His dedication earned the school recognition as the “Top Private School Athletics Social Media” and the #2 Podcast among 1,888 private schools.
Prior to his time in Texas, Josh held multiple roles at Palmer Trinity School in Miami, FL, where he served as a teacher, sports information director, summer program director, and head varsity lacrosse coach. Additionally, he showcased his coaching prowess as the associate head coach for the Under 19 Bermuda National Team during the 2008 World Games in Coquitlam, British Columbia.
A recent 2021 USA Lacrosse Coach of the Year, Josh has coached men’s and women’s lacrosse for twenty-two years including seven years at the NCAA level.
Josh’s educational background includes an undergraduate degree in communications from the University of Rhode Island and a master’s in sports management from Adelphi, where he also served as a graduate assistant lacrosse coach. As a lacrosse player, he contributed to the University of Rhode Island’s 2001 Pioneer League championship team.
Josh, along with his wife Cherilynn and their two children, Ethan (10) and Harper (6), remain dedicated supporters of many notable pediatric charitable organizations.
In addition to his work with the Raymond A. Wood Foundation, The Blumenthal Family spends countless hours working with organizations including Friends of Jaclyn, Pediatric Cancer Foundation (LaCROSSe Out Cancer), Kids Cancer Foundation and the Adelphi University 9.13 Fund.
