Bien que nous soyons reconnaissants qu'il ait surv\u00e9cu \u00e0 la tumeur et \u00e0 l'op\u00e9ration, sa qualit\u00e9 de vie \u00e9tait m\u00e9diocre, en grande partie \u00e0 cause de l'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 hypothalamique avec hyperphagie, une condition cruelle caract\u00e9ris\u00e9e par des sympt\u00f4mes comprenant une faim incontr\u00f4lable et une prise de poids rapide. Pour l'emp\u00eacher de manger autant que son app\u00e9tit vorace le lui dictait, nous avons d\u00fb mettre toute la nourriture sous cl\u00e9 et le surveiller en permanence pour \u00e9viter qu'il ne vole de la nourriture.  C'\u00e9tait un mode de vie \u00e9puisant, d\u00e9primant et insoutenable.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">Dans mon d\u00e9sespoir de trouver de l'aide pour la faim incessante de mon fils, j'ai rencontr\u00e9 d'autres parents dans des groupes de soutien sur Facebook et j'ai lu tout ce que je pouvais dans la litt\u00e9rature m\u00e9dicale sur le sujet de l'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 hypothalamique, de l'hyperphagie et du panhypopituitarisme. Malgr\u00e9 la perte totale de production hormonale de mon fils, j'ai appris que toutes les hormones ne sont pas remplac\u00e9es. \u00c0 ma grande surprise, j'ai ensuite appris l'existence de l'ocytocine, une neurohormone dont les fonctions correspondent \u00e9troitement aux sympt\u00f4mes non trait\u00e9s de l'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 hypothalamique de mon fils.  Le syndrome de Prader Willi (SPW) \u00e9tant une maladie cong\u00e9nitale rare pr\u00e9sentant de nombreux traits similaires \u00e0 ceux du craniopharyngiome (notamment l'hyperphagie), je me suis \u00e9galement plong\u00e9e dans des recherches sur le SPW. Au cours de mes recherches, j'ai d\u00e9couvert le Dr Jennifer Miller, endocrinologue p\u00e9diatrique bien-aim\u00e9e et championne des enfants atteints du syndrome de Prader-Willi. Le Dr Miller avait men\u00e9 des recherches sur l'utilisation de l'ocytocine pour les enfants atteints du syndrome de Prader-Willi. Apr\u00e8s avoir contact\u00e9 le Dr Miller et correspondu avec elle au sujet de ses recherches sur l'ocytocine, je suis devenue encore plus d\u00e9termin\u00e9e \u00e0 essayer. Pendant le traitement exp\u00e9rimental, j'ai \u00e9galement document\u00e9 nos exp\u00e9riences en temps r\u00e9el dans un blog, Hope for HO.  M\u00eame si je ne connaissais pas le r\u00e9sultat de notre exp\u00e9rience, j'ai pens\u00e9 qu'elle \u00e9tait suffisamment prometteuse lorsque nous avons exp\u00e9riment\u00e9 le HEFY ou Half Eaten Frozen Yogurt (voir <a href=\"http:\/\/hopeforho.blogspot.com\/2016\/07\/early-changes-on-oxytocin-theres-first.html\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">cette<\/span><\/a> pour plus d'informations) et j'\u00e9tais enthousiaste \u00e0 l'id\u00e9e de partager nos exp\u00e9riences avec le monde.  Malgr\u00e9 les nombreux hauts et bas que nous avons connus, l'\"exp\u00e9rience de l'ocytocine\" a \u00e9t\u00e9 un succ\u00e8s ; son rapport \u00e0 la nourriture s'est normalis\u00e9, il n'a plus eu besoin d'enfermer tous les aliments et son poids a \u00e9t\u00e9 ramen\u00e9 \u00e0 un niveau normal.  Avec le soutien des co-auteurs, les docteurs Christian Roth, Francisco Perez et Jennifer Miller, j'ai \u00e9crit et publi\u00e9 nos r\u00e9sultats dans un ouvrage intitul\u00e9 \"L'exp\u00e9rience de l'ocytocine\". <a href=\"https:\/\/academic.oup.com\/jcem\/article\/103\/2\/370\/4693940?login=true\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">rapport de cas<\/span><\/a> dans le Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism. \u00c0 ce jour, cinq ans plus tard, mon fils prend toujours de l'ocytocine intranasale et de la naltrexone et a continu\u00e9 \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer son rapport \u00e0 la nourriture et \u00e0 maintenir son poids dans une fourchette normale.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">Malgr\u00e9 notre utilisation exp\u00e9rimentale r\u00e9ussie de l'ocytocine, l'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 hypothalamique reste un probl\u00e8me m\u00e9dical insoluble et l'ocytocine, bien que prometteuse, a encore besoin d'\u00eatre \u00e9tudi\u00e9e.
