De nombreuses personnes sont confront\u00e9es \u00e0 des degr\u00e9s divers \u00e0 ce probl\u00e8me, allant d'une prise de poids spectaculaire apr\u00e8s le traitement initial \u00e0 une prise de poids incontr\u00f4lable avec ou sans hyperphagie, qui est un terme d\u00e9signant une faim insatiable.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Ces probl\u00e8mes surviennent parce que la l\u00e9sion de l'hypothalamus perturbe les processus m\u00e9taboliques qui envoient les signaux de faim et de sati\u00e9t\u00e9 corrects entre le cerveau et l'estomac. Cela peut gravement affecter la qualit\u00e9 de vie des survivants, des soignants et des familles qui s'efforcent de prot\u00e9ger leur proche confront\u00e9 \u00e0 cette maladie. Les r\u00e9frig\u00e9rateurs et armoires ferm\u00e9s \u00e0 cl\u00e9, l'incapacit\u00e9 \u00e0 participer \u00e0 des r\u00e9unions sociales ou familiales, le vol de nourriture et les conditions m\u00e9dicales subs\u00e9quentes comme le diab\u00e8te de type 2 et la st\u00e9atose h\u00e9patique non alcoolique peuvent en r\u00e9sulter et, \u00e0 ce jour, il n'existe pas de traitement \u00e9prouv\u00e9 pour l'HO. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Il y a cependant de l'espoir \u00e0 l'horizon, car des soci\u00e9t\u00e9s pharmaceutiques et des chercheurs sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s dans les maladies rares testent divers traitements potentiels susceptibles d'att\u00e9nuer certains des probl\u00e8mes li\u00e9s \u00e0 cette maladie et m\u00eame de provoquer une perte de poids.
