Wood Foundation (RAWF) - une organisation de d\u00e9fense des maladies rares dirig\u00e9e par des patients - annonce le lancement de <strong>ROAR pour RARE<\/strong>L'objectif de cette campagne est de collecter $500.000 au cours de l'ann\u00e9e et demie \u00e0 venir afin de financer quatre projets indispensables qui am\u00e9lioreront consid\u00e9rablement la qualit\u00e9 de vie des personnes ayant surv\u00e9cu \u00e0 une tumeur c\u00e9r\u00e9brale hypothalamo-hypophysaire (H-P). <\/p>\n<p><em>\"Il s'agit d'une entreprise ambitieuse, mais nous sommes d\u00e9termin\u00e9s \u00e0 collecter ces fonds essentiels pour soutenir nos efforts en vue de trouver de meilleures solutions pour les survivants de tumeurs c\u00e9r\u00e9brales rares\".<\/em> a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Amy Wood, directrice ex\u00e9cutive de RAWF.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Les <strong>ROAR pour RARE <\/strong>vise sp\u00e9cifiquement \u00e0 collecter des fonds pour : 1) le d\u00e9veloppement d'un compteur de sodium \u00e0 domicile pour une meilleure gestion du diab\u00e8te insipide, une condition souvent provoqu\u00e9e par les tumeurs H-P ou leur traitement, 2) le soutien continu du programme d'analyse sanguine portable qui s'est av\u00e9r\u00e9 b\u00e9n\u00e9fique pour r\u00e9duire les visites aux urgences et les s\u00e9jours \u00e0 l'h\u00f4pital pour les patients p\u00e9diatriques, 3) l'octroi de petites subventions de recherche visant \u00e0 impliquer davantage de chercheurs dans l'identification de diff\u00e9rentes approches pour traiter les tumeurs c\u00e9r\u00e9brales H-P et leurs comorbidit\u00e9s, et 4) la cr\u00e9ation d'un centre de ressources en ligne de la recherche et des sp\u00e9cialistes pour les survivants p\u00e9diatriques et adultes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Selon Linda Hanifin Bonner, directrice du d\u00e9veloppement de RAWF, <em>\"Le besoin permanent de nos ressources de la part des patients et de la communaut\u00e9 m\u00e9dicale, ainsi que la croissance de notre travail au cours des cinq derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, montrent clairement qu'il faut en faire plus\".&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><strong>ROAR pour RARE<\/strong> est un appel \u00e0 l'action qui souligne le fait important que les tumeurs H-P sont rares au d\u00e9part et qu'en raison de leur localisation dans le cerveau, elles (ou leur traitement) peuvent provoquer d'autres maladies rares qui durent toute la vie.
