Cuando le\u00ed esto, me conmovieron mucho las palabras de Susan Keller sobre Leigh Ann Doninger. Susan comparti\u00f3 su elogio a su hermana junto con una donaci\u00f3n in memoriam a RAWF. Estas palabras me parecieron adecuadas para nuestro \u00faltimo Viernes de Inspiraci\u00f3n del Mes de Concienciaci\u00f3n sobre los Tumores Cerebrales. Leigh parec\u00eda una verdadera inspiraci\u00f3n para muchos.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><strong>Leigh Ann Doninger<br \/>27 de agosto de 1968 - 29 de enero de 2020<br \/>Por: Susan Keller<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">La \u00faltima vez que visit\u00e9 a Leigh, estaba descansando y decid\u00ed ponerle algo de su m\u00fasica favorita, como Peter, Paul y Mary. Mientras cantaba <em>Puff el drag\u00f3n m\u00e1gico<\/em> ...hac\u00eda rebotar la mano al son de la melod\u00eda. Mientras pensaba en la canci\u00f3n y luego en la pel\u00edcula, me di cuenta de que gran parte de la historia encarnaba la vida de Leigh aqu\u00ed en la tierra.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Como no conoc\u00ed a mi hermana antes del tumor cerebral, no puedo reflexionar sobre qui\u00e9n era antes de que interviniera la medicina. Oigo historias y veo fotos, pero esa no es la Leigh que conozco.&nbsp;  <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Al investigar un poco sobre el tumor de Leigh, descubr\u00ed que la ubicaci\u00f3n, as\u00ed como la cirug\u00eda cerebral invasiva y la radiaci\u00f3n, alteraron enormemente su vida a partir de los seis a\u00f1os.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Estas alteraciones inclu\u00edan retos f\u00edsicos, mentales, sociales y emocionales que la hac\u00edan \u00fanica, a menudo frustrada y, por duro que sea decirlo, solitaria. Ser diferente es duro. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Sin embargo, Leigh no se dej\u00f3 amilanar por ello. Lo utiliz\u00f3 como combustible.  Con la ayuda y el apoyo de sus cari\u00f1osos padres y su familia, Leigh encontr\u00f3 un camino adecuado para ella y lo recorri\u00f3 con valent\u00eda. Trabaj\u00f3 duro, persisti\u00f3 y lleg\u00f3 a desafiar las probabilidades. \u00bfUn t\u00edtulo universitario? Por supuesto. Un m\u00e1ster, claro, \u00a1no hay problema! Ense\u00f1ar a ni\u00f1os, \u00a1s\u00ed, por favor!  <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Y aunque esas barreras permanecieron a lo largo de su vida, ella resisti\u00f3, una y otra vez. Hasta su \u00faltimo aliento.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Si no est\u00e1 familiarizado con la letra de <em>Puff el drag\u00f3n m\u00e1gico<\/em>Cuenta la historia de amor entre un ni\u00f1o llamado Jackie Paper y su compa\u00f1ero de juegos Puff el Drag\u00f3n (que algunos creen imaginario). La canci\u00f3n narra las aventuras de Jackie y Puff. Leigh adquiri\u00f3 su amor por la aventura de nuestro padre, y siempre estaba dispuesta a emprender nuevas aventuras. Estoy muy agradecida a mis padres por haber seguido apoyando su lado aventurero, incluso cuando su cuerpo se cansaba.&nbsp;  <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Pero, por desgracia, la canci\u00f3n contin\u00faa \"un drag\u00f3n vive para siempre, pero no as\u00ed las ni\u00f1as y los ni\u00f1os. Las alas pintadas y los anillos gigantes dejan paso a otros juguetes\". Jackie Paper creci\u00f3, dej\u00f3 de creer en la magia y Puff cay\u00f3 en el olvido.&nbsp;  <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Y aqu\u00ed es donde la dulce canci\u00f3n de Leigh termina de forma diferente. Leigh y Puff siguieron siendo amigos para toda la vida. Puff nunca se qued\u00f3 atr\u00e1s. Como ves, los retos a los que se enfrent\u00f3 Leigh fueron tambi\u00e9n bendiciones y hermosas lecciones para los que la rode\u00e1bamos, incluso se podr\u00eda decir que m\u00e1gicas. Se aferr\u00f3 a su fe infantil cuando f\u00e1cilmente podr\u00eda haberse preguntado \"\u00bfpor qu\u00e9 yo?\".  Am\u00f3 incondicionalmente cuando la amargura podr\u00eda haber sembrado una semilla en su coraz\u00f3n. Apreciaba a sus seres queridos y no dejaba que nada se interpusiera en su camino para pasar tiempo juntos. Utilizaba su talento para ayudar y servir a los dem\u00e1s sin motivos ego\u00edstas.&nbsp;  <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Aunque ya no es profesora en las aulas, sus mejores lecciones se las ha dado su forma de vivir la vida.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">En 1975, el Hospital Infantil de Filadelfia (CHOP) extirp\u00f3 el tumor de Leigh y permiti\u00f3 a mi hermana vivir una vida muy plena hasta los 51 a\u00f1os. Esta fundaci\u00f3n habr\u00eda sido muy beneficiosa para mis padres y mi familia hace tantos a\u00f1os. Tengo previsto asistir al d\u00eda del tumor cerebral pituitario pedi\u00e1trico del CHOP el 2 de mayo para darles las gracias y hacer un donativo en memoria de mi hermana.
