A Silas le diagnosticaron un tumor cerebral craneofaringioma en enero de 2017 y, como consecuencia, padece diabetes ins\u00edpida (DI), una enfermedad en la que, debido a una lesi\u00f3n, la hip\u00f3fisis no excreta la hormona antidiur\u00e9tica (ADH), lo que dificulta el control de los niveles de sodio en sangre.<\/p>\n<p>En el a\u00f1o y medio transcurrido desde el drenaje del componente qu\u00edstico del tumor y la posterior radiaci\u00f3n, Silas ha tenido que hacer frente a numerosas visitas a urgencias y vuelos m\u00e9dicos a Denver debido a problemas para regular su sodio. La madre de Silas dice que cree que todos los problemas m\u00e9dicos tienen su origen en el equilibrio de sodio de Silas.<\/p>\n<p>\"Es una batalla diaria\", afirma Chelsea. \"Nada nos gustar\u00eda m\u00e1s que controlar su sodio y abordarlo en casa lo mejor que podamos\".<\/p>\n<p>A Silas le gusta colorear, dibujar, jugar con plastilina y est\u00e1 empezando a interesarse de nuevo por sus juguetes, como su colecci\u00f3n de ruedas calientes y aviones.
