Aunque estos problemas son bien reconocidos por los m\u00e9dicos, se sabe menos sobre qu\u00e9 problemas consideran los supervivientes y sus familias que son los m\u00e1s importantes de abordar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gracias a la participaci\u00f3n de la comunidad en el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rawoodfoundation.org\/es\/hptumorregistry\/\">Registro de pacientes con tumores cerebrales hipotal\u00e1mico-hipofisarios<\/a>lanzado en mayo de 2024, el equipo de investigaci\u00f3n de la Fundaci\u00f3n Raymond A. Wood pudo recopilar y analizar datos de 161 personas, tanto adultos supervivientes de par\u00e1lisis cerebral como cuidadores, en su mayor\u00eda padres de ni\u00f1os con par\u00e1lisis cerebral. Los participantes compartieron sus perspectivas de la vida real sobre los problemas de salud que m\u00e1s les importan, especialmente los que afectan a la vida diaria y a los objetivos a largo plazo, as\u00ed como los temas en los que esperan que se centren los nuevos tratamientos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u00bfCu\u00e1les fueron los principales resultados?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>La mayor\u00eda de los participantes en el estudio identificaron 17 problemas de salud principales, entre ellos problemas asociados a la disfunci\u00f3n del hipot\u00e1lamo cerebral, problemas neurol\u00f3gicos y problemas de visi\u00f3n. La disfunci\u00f3n hipotal\u00e1mica abarcaba cuestiones como problemas para controlar la temperatura corporal, dificultades para dormir, obesidad, hiperfagia, cognici\u00f3n y comportamiento. Curiosamente, los problemas de salud m\u00e1s importantes no siempre eran los m\u00e1s frecuentes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Estos 17 problemas afectaban sobre todo a las actividades cotidianas de los supervivientes, y algunos -como los cambios en el comportamiento social- tambi\u00e9n dificultaban la consecuci\u00f3n de objetivos a largo plazo. Tanto los supervivientes como los cuidadores coincidieron mayoritariamente en cu\u00e1les eran los problemas de salud m\u00e1s importantes. La principal diferencia era que a los supervivientes adultos les afectaba m\u00e1s la sed extrema (polidipsia). Para los supervivientes adultos, la fatiga y los problemas de sue\u00f1o se encontraban entre los cuatro problemas m\u00e1s graves que afectaban a la vida diaria. Para los cuidadores, los cambios r\u00e1pidos y a menudo impredecibles en el estado de \u00e1nimo o las emociones (labilidad emocional) y los problemas cognitivos eran los que m\u00e1s afectaban a las personas a las que cuidaban. Casi todos estos problemas de salud -excepto los problemas con el control de la temperatura- fueron elegidos como las principales prioridades para nuevos tratamientos por ambos grupos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los supervivientes adultos conced\u00edan especial importancia al desarrollo de tratamientos para la fatiga y la somnolencia diurna excesiva, mientras que los cuidadores conced\u00edan especial importancia a un nuevo tratamiento de la obesidad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo influye este estudio en la vida de la comunidad de PC?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Recoger e integrar las perspectivas, valores y preferencias de los pacientes o sus cuidadores sobre su enfermedad en el desarrollo de nuevos tratamientos se ha convertido en un objetivo clave para la Administraci\u00f3n de Alimentos y Medicamentos (FDA), otras agencias reguladoras y las aseguradoras sanitarias. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los resultados de este estudio ayudar\u00e1n a los m\u00e9dicos a proporcionar una mejor atenci\u00f3n y apoyo a las familias; al mismo tiempo que ayudar\u00e1n a los investigadores, desarrolladores de f\u00e1rmacos, reguladores y pagadores a comprender mejor lo que m\u00e1s importa a los pacientes, y guiar\u00e1n el desarrollo de nuevos tratamientos que realmente satisfagan las necesidades de las personas que viven con par\u00e1lisis cerebral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Para la comunidad de la par\u00e1lisis cerebral: c\u00f3mo puede ayudar a avanzar en la investigaci\u00f3n y el tratamiento de la par\u00e1lisis cerebral:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Si ya se ha inscrito en el Registro de Pacientes con Tumores Hipofisarios Hipotal\u00e1micos, gracias.
